Production Log Week 5

This week our group have finished our music video in the two locations that we have used which is the car park in Ilford and Darren's house. We re-filmed some of our scenes  for a back up for our music video and overall our group was happy with all the scenes that we have filmed and plus we used different camera shots for example long shot,medium shot and also close up.

We stuck to the schedule for our music video and we was just focused on filming all of the scenes for our music video.There was only one problem, and that was the Ilford Exchange car park we couldn't film in the car park. But we went to another car park in Ilford and they said we could use the car park to film our music video. Our group had to check if it was going to rain that day that we wanted to film  but it did not rain so it was alright to film.Our group finished our music video on time and we re-filmed some  scenes of our music video for example the back-up and we re-filmed the intro ten times because the video quality wasn't that good .Our group plan for next week is to start editing our music video on Final Cut Express on the Apple Imac.

Production Log Week 4

This week we finished our wavier for the cast and the call sheets for our media music video project and we started to film some of our scenes from our music video in the car park in Ilford. We started our introduction of our music video on Saturday and we done 21 shots in the first day of the filming.This fitted into our production schedule because we have filmed on the days that we are going to do the filming.

There was a few problems  so we could not film in the Ilford Exchange car park because we need heath and safety insurance. We overcame the problems by going to the car park next to the Cineworld in Ilford and we asked them permission to film there and they said it would be okay to film in the car park.Our plans for next week is to carry on filming our music video and to get to the car park scene and the living room finished by next week and to finish all of our music video. And if we got more to film we can check if we need to re-film some of the footage for our music video in case we need more shots.

Permission To Film

In our music video  we are going to use three different locations the Ilford Exchange car park and Darren's house and Havelock Street.


We as a group have chosen the Ilford Exchange car park to film our music video the Ilford Exchange Car park is public car park that is privately owned so we intend to ask permission to film at the Ilford Exchange car park.






Another location is the street outside the car park as this is a Public place we do not need permission to film.

We as a group  chose Darren's house because it is closer to the Ilford Exchange car park and this location is suitable for this music video and we also have access to film at anytime. We do not need permission as this is a private house and Darren's parents have agreed to this.

Job Roles & Responsibilities

In our music video project we had three jobs role that are Camera Operator and editor and also Production manger.

Director & Production Manger
In our group we decided that I Darren was going to be the Director and Production Manager because we as a group picked my song. I am  in charge of the filming of the music video because I am  suitable for the role and I will pick the days to film the music video in different locations.I think I would be suitable for this job because I can manage a team together because I am more reliable and I think I would do a good job to produce a good piece of work for this whole project.


Camera Operator 
As a group we had chosen the Camera Operator as Yanick we think that he will be the right person for this role because he is good with the cameras and he is always responsible with the equipment and to get the film done on time and he will bring back the equipment back on time.

Editor
We have chosen Omar to be the Editor for our music video we think that he is a good editor from previous work that he has and also he like editing and he also likes adding special effects and the transitions once he has done the work.

Production Log Week 3

This week during all our media lessons  our group have been carrying on with our media shooting scripts and putting the lyrics of the song onto the media shooting script. Music is good for our video script and we  have finished our shooting scripts today.Our group started our location Reccies that we are going to film and we got images and back up locations for our music project just in case the location we wanted is not available also we have images so if worst comes to worst we have a plan a and a plan b.

There was no problems that our group had this week in all of our media lessons overall we finished our media music scripts for our music videos. This week we contributed very well and our group were giving good ideas for the music video project and in our group we discussed how we could use  different camera angles and camera shots. Our plans for next week is to start our filming for our music videos and to do the call sheets for each location  and what shooting scene that we are going to use for our music video.

Location Reccies

As a group we were told to find suitable locations for our music video. 

We chose the Liberty car park, Romford as as a back-up location if we can not use the Ilford exchange car park and the road. We chose this location also because it is easy for us to get there it is nearby.

We also chose Westfield shopping centre car park in Stratford. We decided upon this because it is very big and spacious and well known.

We have chosen to use the Ilford Exchange car park it's more central and we are going to use the same road for some  of the scenes for the music video and it is  closer for everyone in the group to get to This is a advantage because it is closer to the house location that we are going to film for our music video.

We have chosen to use Darren's  house that is in Goodmayes to film some of our scenes  for example the living room scene and the bedroom scene for some of our music video. The advantage is that this location is closer to the Ilford exchange car park.

We chose to use Omar's house in Bengeo Gardens as a back-up house for the living room and the bedroom if we couldn't film some scenes of our music video at Darren's house the back-up house to film the some of the scenes of the music video for example the bed room and the living room we chose the back-up house because it is closer to the  Ilford Exchange car park it is easier and closer to get to. Plus it is on the way to llford and is in the same location that we was going to use in the video. This would be an advantage because this would be our back up location if we couldn't use Darren's house for the music video.

Production Log Week 2

What Have You Contributed To This Week?
This week our group started to plan our shooting script for the music video project on the day we started we only did 10 shots in  the lesson but we needed 100 shots for our music video.During our spare time this week our group started to do more shots for our music video.At the end of the Friday lesson our group  had done 28 shots we have finished our introduction of the shooting scripts for the music video.

How Does This Fit In with The Production Schedule/Job roles/Overall Idea Of The Project?
The shooting script helped us on shooting our music video as each shot is detailed enough to find out what is going to happen in each scene of our music video. Also this would help our group decide what location we are going to film at and which actor is going to be in the  music scene this helps us when we want to start filming again to be prepared.

Were There Any Problems?
There was problems because our group was confused on what shot we were going to use for our music video and also breaking the scenes down by using different camera angles and shots.Our group also was struggling where to put  the lyrics of the music and where are we going to put the lyrics in which scene of the music video.

How Did You/Will You Overcome Them?
I think our group should do different parts of the shooting script so we can give our own ideas for the music video and what camera shots and angles we could use.

What Are Your Plans For The Following Week?
Our plans for next week is to carry on with our music video shooting scripts and add a bit more information for example adding the lyrics for each scene for our shooting scripts and to finish it next week.
